What I find so amazing is that he did not choose to suffer, but she had a choice. He did not choose to get into a car accident and have a life filled with grief, but she could have chosen otherwise. What rewards will the Lord give to Larissa for her sacrificial love towards Ian? I speculate that the Lord will resurrect Ian’s body, give him strong arms and strong legs for the purpose of serving Larissa in Heaven forever. I speculate that he will delight to serve her as a “thank you” for her life of loving service toward him. She will look back and see the Lord sustaining her through a difficult life and worship him as she continues to serve Ian. And she will know deep in her soul that it was all worth it. And Jesus will be there and he will be glorified for enabling two sinful people to love like he first loved them. Their story will certainly be one that saints in Heaven will never tire of hearing!
